In a week's time, there will be a new batch of instagram features. Now, Facebook owned social media has announced two new tools that will enable users to understand what's going on around them. Enter new location and theme stories, which will soon be displayed under the "explore" section.

Currently, "location stories in exploration" is available to all users through instagram version 10.22, which is available through the Google play store (and the iTunes app store). As for the hashtag story, it will be landing in the next few weeks.
